MOXIE is now donating the Bernal Heights studio space for an exciting new social impact project called Yoga Giving, a class series created and taught by Julia Winston, who has been teaching yoga since 2009 and at MOXIE since 2014. Times are challenging for refugees and migrants and its easy to feel helpless; it can also be easy to help. All you have to do is show up to practice and your dollars will go to a good cause.

This month we will help refugees who are resettling in the Bay Area by donating our dollars to Refugee TransitionsWe raised over $500 for Refugee Transitions through this class in the spring and aspire to double that number together this month.

Runner's Yoga

Running builds muscle strength and burns fat. It keeps your heart and lungs strong, blood pressure in check and reduces the risk of heart attack. However, runners are all too familiar with pulled muscles and joint pain that accompany training. Running often exaggerates imbalances in the body which can, over time, cause injuries.

In this 2 hour workshop we will learn poses to increase range of motion, improve flexibility, stretch out your muscles, and relax your mind. We will focus on hamstrings, quadriceps, hips, core strength, and breathing.
